Enzo Favoino has been with Scuola Agraria del Parco di Monza, a not-for-profit Research Centre based in Northern Italy, since 1990. He and his team are involved across Europe in scientific and technical issues related to optimisation of schemes for separate collection, definition, and implementation of Zero Waste programmes, strategies and technologies for the management of biowaste, sustainable management of waste, including residual waste. The team from Scuola Agraria have largely contributed to the development of separate collection and composting in many Countries, in the EU and outside it. Favoino is frequently providing support to the European Commission and other EU bodies on Waste Management and Source Separation. He was co-founder of ECN – the European Compost Network. Since 2004 through 2012 he served as Chair of the WG on Biological Treatment at ISWA – International Solid Waste Association. Currently, he sits as Chair of the Scientific Committee of Zero Waste Europe. He is also the Lead Expert in the Knowledge Team of Let’s Do It World, the global network that organises the World Cleanup Day.
